Disenchanted! - The Musical

I love all things fairytale related so when I was given the chance to see the musical Disenchanted! I was more than excited. From what I could tell it was going to be a comedic act about the way life is from the princesses' point of view. And that life isn't alway "Happily Ever After". I assumed the show would have some funny parts to it, but I wasn't prepared for what an amazing treat was in store for me. From the very beginning I was laughing, and I was quickly hooked.

Disenchanted! is a musical comedy satire that explains through the voices of the many princesses that they are not happy with the exploitation they have suffered from today's films, books, and dolls. They are angry and they want their lives back and they tell us so through humors songs and jokes that had me laughing so much I was in tears.

The princesses uniting to tell their story of not so happily ever after are Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, The Little Mermaid, Rapunzel, Hua Mulan, Pocahontas, Princess Badroulbador (better known as princess Jasmine), and the "one who kissed the frog". The princesses are done with the "Princess Complex". They are tired of being stereotyped, they don't want to live their lives talking to candlesticks, chasing after men, and having to talk to woodland creatures.

And all of this is done in absolute hysterical song that will have you laughing and giggling the whole way through.
